I am a writer of fiction and a lover of coffee. I adore poetry, and I’m working hard to be better at it. I love the spoken word and performance art.
I earned my MA in Communication Studies at the University of North Texas, which informed the basis of my feminist leanings and intensified my fascination with language. I work in assignments in Housing at UNT, and I spent many years teaching public speaking at various local community colleges. Basically, I spend most of my waking hours around college students. Hilarity ensues. There’s often cake. Sometimes crying. But mostly cake.
I am a reader, dancer, dreamer, thinker, runner, and cook.
I love Jesus. I love the idea of the church. I hope for the day when the idea and the reality are more closely matched. I think I’m making peace with the uncertainty. I think. Check with me again tomorrow.
I like to join in the fun of reading marathons, celebrate book launches, and occasionally guest post. I enjoy writing about food and art and goal-setting and all other sorts of things. I am an avid fan (and occasional winner) of NaNoWriMo. I am a member of Spiderweb Salon, a supper club or two, and five(ish) book clubs.
And I’m caffeinated. Just all the time.
Love the heading quote!
Happy Thanksgiving to you!
~ a fellow coffee-aholic. xD
Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!
Found my way here via a link on the notice from WP that you had “liked” my post on changes. I especially enjoyed your header quote and was moved by these words on your About page: “I love Jesus. I love the idea of the church. I hope for the day when the idea and the reality are more closely matched.” I join you in this hope.
Thanks, Sherrey!
